Choosing Embodiment is the Best Choice You Can Make

Every day

All day long

There are invitations

To leave our bodies

To numb out

To detach

To disengage

To choose something other than embodiment

For her

Embodiment was the only option

Once awake

She could no longer choose sleep

Regardless of the incessant invitations

Regardless of the occasional allure

Regardless of the temporary fear of being so aware

And it was then

With a sharp inhale

Followed by a slow exhale

She returned to her body

It was that very choice

That was her embodiment

For the rest of her life.
