Name: Melissa Tal
Occupation: Owner/ Lover at The Real Food Movement
Tell us about yourself!: I am the unexpected. I am feminine, and graceful city dwelling business woman and I embrace that, but i am also a tree hugging, beach sleeping, bush walking, plant talking food alchemist. I cant quench the crazy thirst i have to learn something new & even more so create something new all the time no matter how much i learn or how big i create. I feel too deeply to pretend that every question has a correct answer. I cry too easily and love too much.
What is your definition of what a “wild woman” is?: One who is free to express their truth, with love and gratitude for the nature of all things.
How would you describe your life was like before starting your journey of being a wild woman?: Subservient. To people, society and social conditioning. Lacking in any depth, especially in the depth of connection with myself and others.
What were your biggest insecurities before engaging your inner wild woman?: Fear of being alone, unaccepted and that i would never be understood.
What is your life like now that you are actively engaging your inner wild woman?: Since embracing all that is wild within me, i stand in the face of great fear and look deep into it. Not a day passes where i don't feel gratitude for my true self, my body and my connection to nature. Before i begin to consider another, i consider myself whole. I feel everything so much more. The good, the bad, the in between, i feel it so much more.
What are your five most favorite aspects of yourself as a wild woman?:
1. Integrity - I walk my talk
2. Its sexy - embodying your most wild feminine self is really dam sexy
3. Self love - the connection with myself, my body and my evolution
4. Passion - I feel and express daily
5. Leaving the house with no bra, messy hair and a smile.
What was the biggest realization, experience, or transformation that most helped you to start unleashing and embracing your wild feminine nature?: For me, although for much of my teen/ early adult years were spent understanding this energy and space - i only really started living it when i gave birth. Nothing quite prepared me for the rebirth my son gifted me in exchange for his life passing through me.
What is your favorite part of expressing your wild feminine nature?: Freedom - finally embracing what was always mine.
When do you feel the wildest?: Naked on the beach with sunshine - travelling, far and wide to new places - creating and living my life's purpose in my work.
Why did you decide to participate in Wild Women Unveiled?: I doubt there could be anything more critical in society than the awakening of the true wild feminine - the mothers, teachers, lovers & creatives of the planet. What you do to bring this forward to women is nothing short of inspirational and it's an honour to be a part of it.
What is your message to other women out there who are just beginning their journey as a wild woman, or haven’t started yet but feel the call of the wild woman speaking to their soul?: This is not the easy path. No. It involves many tears, falling over, being broken, layer after layer after layer of broken. You will loose sleep, you will loose friends and you will loose all you have known to be your current identity.
However. You will gain life. You will live a life of depth and passion and fortitude and integrity so rich and so full and so real that what you think now as life changing magic will be a normal day, and the life changing magic you will know will change you down to your DNA.
